Fillion

By request – Fillion (original sketch here) was the latest dragon to be transformed into a digital painting. And once again, I would try a different painting technique with this image.

Usually I incorporate some of the line work from the orginal sketch in my digital paintings. This time I painted over the lines. It was fun trying something new, but of course that also meant that it took longer than I would have liked. That’s all part of the learning process!

I quite like the way the scales look on him!

 

Dragon 262 – The vicious Vaughn lurks in the deep shadows of the vast forest.

Dragon 261 – Sylvano the old blind dragon. Sometimes the dragon just seems to grow with the sketch…I definitely didn’t have a blind dragon in mind when I started!

Dragon 260 – The ‘Year of the Dragon’ has officially begun! Like I needed an excuse to draw dragons. Looks like I’ll be having a lot of fun this year! Read the rest of this entry »
